This story is analyzed in detail in a forthcoming issue of the Journal of Folklore Research. The versification presented in the Flash version above has been changed as subsequent study of the text and consideration of different possible patterns have led me to suggest a slightly different arrangement of lines and verses, as readers of the JFR article will see.
